Infanto is a work of fiction. While it draws inspiration from the Bible, apocryphal writings, historical traditions, and other real-world sources, the characters, events, settings, and interpretations presented throughout this story are fictional and should not be understood as historical fact.

Considerable care, thought, and research have gone into the development of this world and its characters. Many historical figures and texts have been studied in order to create a story that feels consistent across many traditions, even where it intentionally diverges from established beliefs and historical accounts.

This work is not intended to mock, belittle, or demonize any religion, denomination, culture, or the people who hold those beliefs. The perspectives and events depicted belong solely to the fictional universe of Infanto and do not represent factual claims about history, scripture, or real individuals. Readers are encouraged to distinguish between the fictional narrative presented here and the real-world people, events, and beliefs that inspired it.

Infanto presents a fictional reinterpretation of many well-known religious figures, including portrayals that differ significantly from traditional beliefs and teachings. These creative choices exist solely within the fictional universe of Infanto.

This work is not intended to challenge, discredit, or mock any religion, denomination, or the beliefs of those who practice them. Readers who are looking for a traditional or faith-affirming retelling should be aware that this story intentionally takes a different creative direction.

Taboo subjects

Crucial

Infanto depicts fictional storylines that may cause discomfort for some readers about taboo relationships between relatives. These storylines are additional parts of its overarching narrative and are not the primary focus of the comic's main plot. They are only parts of a few of the characters and their individual stories.

Many of these relationships actually directly originate from the religious traditions that Infanto is based on and are simply reflecting the actual source material, or are consistent interpretations of some pre-existing pieces of its mythology.

Infanto's depictions of taboo relationships are not intended to be a romanticization of these taboos, nor are they meant to glorify or promote the enactment of these topics in reality, as this is a work of fiction. Depictions of taboo subjects in fiction do not mean these things are not harmful to real people in real life, and readers who are uncomfortable with these topics should not read this comic for their own sake. Readers should not interpret these depictions as my own real-life endorsements.

Infanto contains themes involving sexuality, relationships, intimacy, and related subject matter. These topics are important to certain characters and storylines and are treated as part of the narrative rather than as material intended for sexual gratification.

While the comic may include discussion, implication, or occasional depictions of intimacy, it is not pornographic and does not contain explicit sexual imagery, nudity, or graphic depictions of sexual acts. Any sexual content is presented in service of the story, characters, and themes.

If you are comfortable with mature themes but are concerned about explicit material, please be aware that Infanto is intended to remain focused on the characters themselves rather than sexually explicit.

Although Infanto draws inspiration from religious history and traditions, it does not center conflict around LGBTQ+ identities or portray prejudice toward LGBTQ+ people anywhere in the plot. The story is not intended to serve as a debate or commentary about sexuality and gender identity related to religion, but rather to tell a narrative in which people of many different backgrounds exist and are treated equally.

Infanto features many LGBTQ+ characters and relationships as a natural part of its world and cast. These identities are treated as ordinary aspects of the characters themselves and are neither hidden, amplified, nor downplayed in the story. Readers should expect LGBTQ+ representation to be present in the comic as a normal part of its world.

I do not oppose the practice of religion or the people who hold religious beliefs. Infanto is a fictional narrative created out of an interest in religious history, mythology, literature, and the stories surrounding them.

While I am an atheist, I have a genuine passion for studying theology — and while my own personal beliefs differ from those of many of the traditions depicted in Infanto, this story is not intended to represent or promote my personal views on religion.

The characters' beliefs, opinions, and actions belong to them and the fictional world they inhabit. They should not be interpreted as statements about my own beliefs, nor as commentary on the validity of any real-world faith or religion.

Every reader brings their own experiences, beliefs, and interpretations to a story, and those perspectives are respected. Whether you are religious, non-religious, or somewhere in between, my hope simply is that you engage with Infanto as a fictional narrative and not judge it as anything more.

To be clear: Infanto is not intended to persuade readers to adopt, reject, question, or change any religious, philosophical, or personal beliefs. It is a work of fiction created for storytelling and entertainment, not an argument for or against any faith or worldview. This work is not an attempt to tell readers what they should believe or how they should feel about religion, scripture, or the traditions that inspired it. Those are deeply personal matters, and I respect every reader's freedom to their own beliefs.

Above all else, Infanto was created to tell a story. While the comic explores themes inspired by religion, history, and mythology, it is not intended to serve as any kind of statement. Its purpose is not to persuade, criticize, or promote any particular belief or worldview, but simply to entertain the reader with a fictional story.

My hope is that readers approach Infanto as they would any other work of fiction. With an open mind, an appreciation for storytelling, and the understanding that its content, characters, conflicts, and themes only exist within the context of its own fictional universe.

Comics reader

The comics reader is the primary way to experience the comic. It contains all of the comic pages themselves.

These arrow buttons navigate through the currently selected chapter. They only apply to the current chapter. Goes to the first page, goes to the previous page, goes to the next page, and goes to the last page.

Once you've reached the beginning or end of a chapter, the first/previous or next/last buttons will disable. You can proceed to the next chapter using the chapter select.

On mobile or touch-screen devices, you can swipe left and right to navigate through pages. You can also tap or click the page to go to the next page.

This switch enables or disables content warnings. Content warnings appear on pages with potentially upsetting content.

You can go to specific pages in a book using the page search, which is accessible through the dropdown. All you have to do is enter the chapter in page number.

Transcripts

Transcripts are the contents of every single page in text format. You can access them through the dropdown, or through the transcript reader.

They describe what's happening in the page, and include any character dialogue if applicable.

This switch toggles clean transcripts, which are truncated versions of page transcripts that contain content warnings. They usually apply to things in character dialogue, such as profane or sexual language. On pages with graphic content, the text descriptions are kept less detailed.

On the transcript reader, you can search entire books for specific keywords or phrases using the search bar. Searching is not case-sensitive, but it only applies to the currently selected book.

Contexts

Contexts are additional information regarding things present in the comic. They provide explanations for things that readers might not be familiar with. These things are usually references to biblical or apocryphal lore, real-world history, or pop-culture references.

They can be accessed through the dropdown or the contexts reader, which contains every context present within the currently selected book.

Summaries

Chapter summaries are recaps of all the events in a book. They explain everything that happens in simple words to give readers a chance to catch up or refresh their memory if they have stepped away from the comic for a bit.

Summaries do not evade spoilers, and inherently spoil everything that happens in a book, so it's not recommended to view them until you've finished reading it, unless you just want to find out what happens.

Content warnings

Content warnings are optional warnings for pages that contain potentially sensitive or upsetting content. Infanto is an adult comic, which means it contains a lot of adult topics which readers might find emotionally intense.

The main types of things present in the comic include:

Profanity
Sexual situations
Violence, gore, death
Suicide
Alcohol, alcoholism
Smoking
Drug usage

However, these are not the only things you will find. You can view all of the content warnings in a book through the content warnings reader. This contains an overview of all warnings, and additonally links to every single page containing those warnings with a spoiler context attached that explains what the situation containing the warning is. These may be kept vague and do not include character names in order to avoid majorly spoiling the plot — they simply provide context to what is happening.

Bookmarks

Bookmarks give you the ability to save links to specific pages to save your place or keep track of information. Bookmarks can be accessed through the dropdown on the comics reader.

To add a bookmark, select the New button and select Add bookmark.

On your saved bookmarks, you can view both the transcript for that page and any context attached. You can also add custom notes for any personal use you might have, but they are optional.

Bookmarks can also be sorted, or organized into sections. To add a new section, select Add section. This will add a divider that you can place between your bookmarks. Sections are all custom color-coded, you can add any color you want. These colors apply to everything beneath a section.
